The purpose of this course is to enable students to understand the current forefront research directions and research results of experimental design and data processing both at home and abroad.

The experimental design method began in 1920s and has a history of nearly 100 years. The subjects of Civil engineering and related disciplines are based on experiments, the engineering design, scientific research, production and management cannot leave the experiment, thus mastering some basic principles and methods on design of experiment for graduate students majoring in civil engineering and related subjects is necessary. In addition, the principles and applications on error analysis, variance analysis, regression analysis are all included in this course with the purpose of elevating the ability of processing and writing skills during the period of experimental research.
