In this course, the beam column shear deformation and nonlinear interaction, joint domain deformation, support buckling, stability and other problems of steel frames are studied by using the finite element method of bar system. Through calculation examples, the engineering application and research ability of students are cultivated, which has strong practical value. The contents include: 1. Types, characteristics, main problems and analysis methods of steel frames; 2. The element analysis theory considering the interaction of axial force and shear deformation, including beam element stiffness equation, column element stiffness equation, joint area influence and support element stiffness formula ,etc.; 3. The structural analysis theory, including methods and models for stability and nonlinear analysis.
