Structural mechanics is one of the basic courses of civil engineering specialty, which is a required course combining theory with engineering practice. This course mainly introduces the composition rule and reasonable form of the bar system structure, the calculation principle and method of the strength, rigidity and stability of the structure under the action of external factors. The specific contents include: the geometric composition analysis of plane system, the internal force calculation of statically determinate structure, the displacement calculation of statically determinate structure, the influence line of statically determinate structure, the internal force calculation of statically indeterminate structure, the structural dynamics, the elastic stability of structure and the ultimate load of structure.
This course is a practical engineering course, the teaching link is mainly classroom theory teaching, which mainly trains students' modeling ability, derivation, calculation ability and comprehensive analysis ability of mechanical model of complex engineering problems in the field of civil engineering. The course plays an important role in this major and serves as a link between the preceding and the following. It provides the necessary mechanics analysis principle and foundation for the follow-up professional courses such as elastic mechanics, reinforced concrete structure, masonry structure, steel structure, high-rise building structure, soil mechanics and foundation, building structure earthquake resistance and building construction.
